Aamer Atozai Meets Dr. Hussain Abdullah to Explore Rehabilitation Collaboration

The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, has held a meeting with Dr. Hussain Muhammad Abdullah to discuss potential collaboration in the field of addiction medicine and community rehabilitation.

Dr. Abdullah serves as Chief of Addiction Services and Fellowship Program Director at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and is also President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah highlighted his work in mental health advocacy, preventive outreach, clinical treatment and professional training. The discussions focused on exploring partnerships with Pakistani-American organisations to promote community awareness, as well as potential institutional linkages with Pakistan to support knowledge exchange and capacity building in addiction treatment.

The Consul General appreciated Dr. Abdullah’s contributions to public health and his efforts in addressing addiction and mental health challenges.

Both sides agreed to pursue cooperation in community awareness initiatives, professional exchanges and collaboration on addiction treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
