Actress Stresses Consent for Photos as Security Team Monitors Public Outings
Priyanka Chopra, 43, has hired bodyguards to prevent fans from recording her “without consent,” particularly when she is out in public with her four-year-old daughter, Malti Jonas. Speaking to Variety, Chopra explained that while she enjoys interacting with people and taking photos, she is concerned about unsolicited filming, especially involving her daughter.
Chopra said her security team is tasked with ensuring privacy rather than personal protection, adding: “Nobody’s gonna kill me.” She described having a complex relationship with fame, dividing herself into a public and private persona.
The comments come after her husband, Nick Jonas, discussed the couple’s challenging experience following Malti’s birth via surrogate in January 2022. Malti was born prematurely and required resuscitation, weighing only 1 pound 11 ounces. She spent nearly 100 days in a neonatal intensive care unit, where the couple alternated 12-hour hospital shifts due to COVID restrictions.
Jonas praised the NICU nurses for their efforts, calling them “truly angels” and reflected on the emotional strain of the experience, describing it as a “tough reality check.”
