Ambassador Discusses Ukraine, Russia-Pakistan Relations With Students

Ambassador Albert P. Khorev delivered a lecture on Russia-Pakistan relations to students at Bahria University. He highlighted that, despite challenges in international relations, cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad has historically been constructive. He cited industrial projects supported by the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s, including the Karachi Steel Mills and the Guddu Thermal Power Plant.

Ambassador Khorev emphasized that contemporary Russia-Pakistan relations feature increasingly dynamic political, economic, and humanitarian contacts. He also provided an update on the situation in and around Ukraine, discussing the root causes of the crisis and the role of Western countries in destabilizing the Eurasian region. He drew attention to Russia’s efforts to protect the rights of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.

On the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Khorev met Bahria University’s Rector, Vice Admiral Abid Hameed HI(M). They discussed potential partnerships with Russian universities and expressed interest in continuing academic cooperation.
