Ambassador Tirmizi, EEC Trade Chief Discuss Expanding Pakistan–EAEU Economic Ties

Moscow : Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has held talks in Moscow with Andrey Slepnev, the Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), focusing on expanding economic cooperation between Pakistan and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

During the meeting, Ambassador Tirmizi highlighted the strategic importance of deepening engagement between Pakistan and the EAEU, stressing the need for structured and sustained collaboration across multiple economic sectors.

He conveyed Pakistan’s strong interest in boosting bilateral trade ties with EAEU member states, particularly in the areas of trade facilitation, regional connectivity, investment cooperation, and business-to-business (B2B) exchanges. The discussions reflected Islamabad’s broader efforts to diversify trade partnerships and integrate more closely with regional economic blocs.

Both sides expressed readiness to move forward with the development of concrete trade frameworks and practical mechanisms aimed at strengthening institutional links and expanding economic relations between Pakistan and the EAEU.

The meeting signaled a shared commitment to building a more robust and mutually beneficial partnership, with a focus on long-term economic cooperation and regional integration.
