Attaullah Tarar Condemns KP Chief Minister’s Remarks on Terrorism
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has strongly reacted to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s remarks demanding evidence of terrorism originating from Afghanistan, calling the statement irresponsible, shameful, and highly condemnable.
In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the information minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister appeared to be speaking as a spokesperson for Afghanistan, terming the approach deeply regrettable. He said the statement was not only contrary to facts but also against Pakistan’s national interests.
Tarar emphasized that the entire world has witnessed undeniable evidence of the Afghan Taliban regime’s support for terrorism. He added that there is also concrete and irrefutable proof of Afghan soil being used to carry out terrorist activities inside Pakistan.
Criticizing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the federal information minister said the chief minister had crossed all limits of falsehood and hypocrisy. He stressed that the Pakistani nation has made immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and that such statements amount to an insult to those sacrifices.
The information minister further said that whenever elements of what he termed the “politics of chaos” speak, they end up facilitating terrorists. He added that Pakistan’s progress is unacceptable to “Fitna al-Khawarij,” which is why the country continues to be targeted.
Concluding his statement, Attaullah Tarar urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister to “come to his senses” and refrain from making irresponsible remarks on sensitive matters related to national security.
