Canadian High Commissioner Highlights Investment Interest in Pakistan
Islamabad: Canadian companies are exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan’s evolving market, with particular interest in livestock, agriculture and other key sectors, Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarik Ali Khan said on Tuesday.
The high commissioner made the remarks during a meeting with Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan in Islamabad, where both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Tarik Ali Khan said the Canadian government is keen to enhance trade relations with Pakistan and expand commercial engagement between the two countries.
The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, with emphasis on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues of cooperation.
Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said Pakistan is actively engaging the private sector to boost production across multiple industries. He also briefed the Canadian envoy on major infrastructure projects, including the Karachi–Hyderabad–Sukkur Motorway and the Sialkot–Islamabad Motorway.
He further stated that the Kharian–Rawalpindi Motorway is being opened for investment and has been planned as a six-lane motorway.
