Chairman Senate Gilani Meets UAE FNC Speaker to Boost Cooperation
Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, held a meeting with the Speaker of the United Arab Emirates Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming the strong and enduring ties between the two countries.
The meeting, followed by a cordial luncheon, provided an opportunity for both leaders to reflect on the longstanding history of Pakistan-UAE relations and explore new avenues for enhanced cooperation. They underscored that bilateral ties are firmly rooted in shared values, mutual respect and a tradition of close partnership.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of relations in recent years, particularly in trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges. Chairman Senate Gilani appreciated the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan’s economic stability, including the country’s commitment of $10 billion in investment.
The Chairman Senate thanked the Speaker for the warm hospitality and extended an invitation to him to visit Pakistan. The invitation was warmly accepted, with Speaker Ghobash noting that the visit would further strengthen parliamentary engagement and open new opportunities for collaboration.

The discussions also covered parliamentary diplomacy, economic cooperation and key regional and international developments, with both leaders emphasising the importance of peace, stability and shared prosperity in the region.
The meeting further reinforced the close friendship between Pakistan and the UAE, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to sustained engagement and expanded cooperation across multiple sectors.
