French Astronaut Adenot Embarks on Longest Ever French Spaceflight
Sophie Adenot has launched into space to become the second French woman to travel beyond Earth, 30 years after Claudie Haigneré. She will spend nine months aboard the International Space Station, marking the longest French spaceflight to date.
Adenot’s mission continues France’s rich history of astronauts, beginning with Jean-Loup Chrétien in 1982 and including Thomas Pesquet. Her journey aims to inspire a new generation of explorers while honoring the legacy of French space pioneers.
Adenot has expressed excitement at sharing her mission with the public and reflecting on the contributions of her predecessors to space exploration.
