General (R) Bajwa Injured at Home, in Stable Condition at CMH
Islamabad : Former Pakistan Army Chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa has been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after sustaining injuries in a fall at his residence, sources said.
Initial reports indicate that Bajwa slipped at home and suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to CMH for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition. He was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit, though the full extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.
In a video message shared on social media, Bajwa’s brother-in-law, Naeem Ghumman, said the former army chief was “barefoot when he slipped and suffered a head injury.” He added that medical examinations found nothing suspicious and all necessary tests had been conducted. Ghumman reassured the public that Bajwa is “100 percent out of danger.”
Bajwa, 65, served as Pakistan’s 10th chief of army staff from November 29, 2016, to November 29, 2022, including an extended tenure granted in 2019. Since retiring in late 2022, he has largely remained out of the public eye.
