Hamas Firmly Rejects Israel’s 60-Day Disarmament Ultimatum
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has categorically rejected Israel’s alleged 60-day ultimatum demanding that the group disarm.
According to Arab media reports, a senior Hamas leader responded sharply to Israeli threats, stating that the movement had no knowledge of any such demand and that these statements do not correspond with the realities of the ongoing negotiations. The leader emphasized that claims of an ultimatum were inconsistent with the actual course of talks currently underway.
Hamas maintained that as long as Israeli control over Gaza continues, the question of relinquishing weapons does not arise. The group reiterated that resistance remains tied to the existence of occupation and that disarmament cannot be discussed under such conditions.
The Palestinian resistance organization specifically rejected the 60-day ultimatum reportedly issued by a close aide of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which called on Hamas to surrender its arms within the stated timeframe.
