High-Level Libyan Delegation Holds Talks with Pakistani Prime Minister

Islamabad: A high-level Libyan delegation held talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

The Libyan delegation was led by Prime Minister of the Libyan Government H.E. Dr. Osama Saad Hamad and included Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, were also present during the meeting.

According to an official statement, the discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, with both sides underscoring the importance of deepening bilateral ties. The meeting reflected a shared desire to expand cooperation in areas of common concern while contributing to peace, stability, and development at both regional and international levels.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering friendly and constructive relations with Libya, emphasizing the importance of sustained engagement and dialogue. The Libyan leadership, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s role and expressed interest in broadening collaboration between the two countries.

The meeting concluded with an understanding to maintain close contact and explore avenues for future cooperation.
