Home Department Seeks Complete Medical Records of Imran Khan in Adiala Jail

ISLAMABAD : The Home Department Punjab has requested complete medical records regarding Imran Khan’s treatment at Adiala Jail. Authorities have instructed jail officials to provide detailed charts of his vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and blood sugar, as well as reports from consultants documenting which medical staff examined him and on what days.

On-duty doctors reportedly record Khan’s vitals three times daily. For his eye treatment, the government has formed a specialized panel from Al-Shifa Eye Hospital, comprising top ophthalmologists Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and Dr. Amjad.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has demanded that no medical procedure commence in the absence of Khan’s personal doctors and that at least one family member be present during examinations.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry confirmed that the government has approved transferring Imran Khan from jail to hospital, providing him access to communicate with his sons, and assured that all actions comply with humanitarian and legal obligations. He urged political parties, including PTI, to refrain from politicizing sensitive health matters and emphasized the government’s commitment to lawfully providing facilities to all prisoners.
