Imran Khan’s Medical Report Confirms Significant Improvement in Vision

The medical report of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has been made public, indicating notable improvement in his eye condition.

According to the report, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas visited Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors provided them with a detailed briefing on Imran Khan’s health status. His personal physicians, Dr Asim Yousaf and Dr Khurram Mirza, were also briefed by phone for approximately 25 minutes and expressed satisfaction with the treatment and its progress.

Political leaders and personal doctors conveyed full confidence in the treatment administered so far and in the recommendations of the senior medical team. A medical board examined Imran Khan on February 15, 2026. The board included Professor Dr Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr Muhammad Arif Khan from PIMS Islamabad.

The medical report states that there has been a marked improvement in Imran Khan’s eyesight. Vision in the right eye without glasses was recorded at 6/24 partial, while the left eye was recorded at 6/9. With corrective glasses, vision in the right eye improved to 6/9 partial and in the left eye to 6/6.

Examination of the right eye revealed signs of bleeding and inflammation of the retina; however, swelling has significantly reduced, with thickness decreasing from 550 to 350, which doctors described as a positive development. According to the report, vision has improved from 6/36 to 6/9 partial, which has been deemed satisfactory at this stage.

The medical board prescribed Nevanac and Systane Ultra eye drops for both eyes, along with Cosopt eye drops specifically for the right eye. Specialists also recommended OCT angiography and FFA tests after completion of the anti-VEGF treatment.
