India Using Proxies Against Pakistan After Military Defeat, Says Defence Minister
Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said that terrorists operating in Balochistan are “agents of Afghanistan,” alleging that India, after suffering defeat in direct confrontation, is now pursuing aggression against Pakistan through proxy elements.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Khawaja Asif said these groups were attempting to blackmail the state and were acting on behalf of Pakistan’s enemies. He alleged that the militants were carrying out attacks with the backing and support of hostile forces.
The defence minister said that Balochistan had witnessed development over the past decades, including the construction of roads and educational institutions. He emphasized that democratic culture is the rightful claim of the Baloch people and that they must have full ownership over their natural resources.
Khawaja Asif said the federal government stands with ordinary citizens and that terrorism in Balochistan would be responded to with full force. He added that, with the support of the Baloch people, Pakistan would defeat what he described as proxy aggression by India and Afghanistan.
He further stated that the entire world was aware that Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav is in Pakistan’s custody and claimed that evidence exists linking India to terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.
