Iran Seeks Diplomatic Nuclear Deal Solution

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that diplomacy remains the only viable solution to resolving the nuclear issue, emphasizing that negotiations are the sole path toward a lasting agreement. However, he cautioned that if no agreement is reached, Iran is prepared to take necessary measures to defend itself.

Speaking in an interview with American media, Araghchi said that an initial draft of a potential nuclear agreement could be prepared within the next two to three days. He explained that once the draft receives approval, the document will be handed over to the U.S. special envoy for further consideration.

Araghchi clarified that Iran has not offered to halt uranium enrichment during the ongoing negotiations, and he noted that the United States has not made such a demand. According to him, negotiators from both countries are working intensively toward reaching a swift agreement. He reiterated that there is no military solution to the nuclear issue and stressed that diplomatic engagement is the only effective way forward. Nonetheless, he underscored that if diplomatic efforts fail to produce results, Iran stands ready to implement necessary defensive measures.

The foreign minister further stated that Iran is prepared for both diplomacy and conflict. He warned that any military action by the United States would significantly complicate the situation. Araghchi said a U.S. strike would not only have devastating consequences for Iran but could also destabilize the broader region and negatively impact the international community.

Addressing U.S. leadership, Araghchi delivered a direct message to President Donald Trump and members of Congress. He asserted that successive American administrations have already attempted nearly every available tactic against Iran. According to him, strategies including military confrontation, economic sanctions, and the activation of the “snapback” mechanism have all failed to achieve their intended objectives.

He emphasized that the tone of engagement matters significantly. Araghchi said that if the United States speaks to the Iranian people with respect, Iran will respond in the same manner. Conversely, he warned that if Washington adopts a language of force, Tehran would respond accordingly.

His remarks come amid heightened tensions following recent statements from President Trump. A day earlier, Trump said in a public statement that he was considering limited strikes against Iran. The comment has further intensified speculation about the direction of U.S.-Iran relations and the prospects for diplomatic progress.
