Muscat: Negotiations between the United States and Iran are scheduled to take place today in Muscat, the capital of Oman, amid renewed diplomatic engagement over Tehran’s nuclear program.

According to Arab media reports, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Oman to participate in the talks. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed that Araghchi will represent Iran in nuclear negotiations with the United States in Muscat.

The spokesperson said Iran will take part in the talks with full authority, aiming to reach a fair, mutually acceptable, and dignified agreement. He added that Tehran remains committed to constructive engagement focused on resolving nuclear-related issues.

US officials have also departed for Oman to attend the negotiations. The American delegation includes Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, along with President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and other officials.

Earlier, Iran-US nuclear talks were scheduled to be held in Türkiye on Friday. However, Iran requested that the venue be shifted from Istanbul to Oman. Tehran also demanded that regional partners not be included in the negotiations and that discussions be restricted solely to nuclear matters.
