Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Thai Ambassador Mr. Rong Wudhi Vira

Islamabad: The meeting featured a detailed exchange of views on bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, and the regional situation.

Pakistan attaches great importance to its long-standing, friendly, and cordial relations with Thailand, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated.

The Speaker of the National Assembly expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious human lives resulting from the cyclone that struck Thailand.

Pakistan has vast opportunities for promoting religious tourism, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq noted. Pakistan is the cradle of various civilizations, cultures, and religions, the Speaker of the National Assembly said.

Every year, a large number of followers of Buddhism, Sikhism, and other religions come to Pakistan to visit sacred sites, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq mentioned. Pakistan has numerous important archaeological sites of the Gandhara civilization, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated.

Climate change is a global and common challenge, the Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized. Collective and joint global efforts are needed to tackle challenges like climate change, the Speaker of the National Assembly said.

Women in Pakistan are being provided equal opportunities in all spheres of life. A Women’s Parliamentary Caucus comprising women members has been established in the National Assembly, the Speaker of the National Assembly announced. The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus is playing an active role in women’s rights, welfare, and protection, the Speaker of the National Assembly stated.

The Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized the need to further promote contacts and cooperation between Pakistan and Thailand. Exchange of parliamentary delegations will promote harmony and cooperation among parliamentarians of both countries, the Speaker of the National Assembly said.

The Pak-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group established in the National Assembly is playing an effective role in promoting ties between the parliaments of both countries, the Speaker of the National Assembly noted.

Thai Ambassador Mr. Rong Wudhi Vira Butr agreed with the Speaker of the National Assembly’s suggestions regarding the promotion of parliamentary contacts.

Pakistan is an important country in the region, and Thailand values its relations with Pakistan. Thailand is taking keen interest in social development projects in Pakistan, the Thai Ambassador said. Work is ongoing on several social development projects in Pakistan with Thailand’s cooperation, the Thai Ambassador mentioned.

The Thai Ambassador emphasized the need to further expand cooperation between the two countries in various sectors. Thailand is desirous of promoting cooperation with Pakistan in economic and social sectors, the Thai Ambassador stated.
