Italy and EU Condemn Islamabad Suicide Attack, Express Solidarity with Pakistan

Islamabad : Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and European Commissioner Magnus Brunner contacted Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to strongly condemn the suicide bombing in Islamabad and to express heartfelt condolences over the loss of precious lives.

During the conversation, the Italian interior minister said he was deeply saddened upon hearing the news of the tragic incident and conveyed, on behalf of the Italian government and himself, sincere sympathy to the victims and their families. He said Italy stands with the families of those who lost their lives and with the people of Pakistan during this difficult time.

Matteo Piantedosi reiterated that Italy unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and expressed readiness to continue cooperation with Pakistan to counter the shared threat of terrorism.

European Commissioner Magnus Brunner also expressed profound grief over the attack, stating that prayers and thoughts are with the victims and their families. He affirmed that the European Union stands in solidarity with the Pakistani people in this moment of sorrow.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Italian interior minister and the European commissioner for their expressions of solidarity and support during the difficult time. He stated that Pakistan is acting as a shield for the world in the fight against terrorism and stressed that the global community must take stronger collective measures to ensure international security and protect the world from terrorism.
