Johnny Logan to Perform on First Eurovision Live Tour Despite RTÉ Boycott
Europe: Three-time Eurovision winner Johnny Logan has been announced as a performer for the first-ever Eurovision Song Contest Live Tour, despite previously backing RTÉ’s boycott of this year’s festival.
The 71-year-old singer, often called “Mr Eurovision,” will share the stage with other former winners and contestants during the tour, which runs from June 15 to July 2.
In a social media post, Logan said, “Finally, the secret is out, I’m looking forward to performing with all these other artists involved all over Europe and to sharing the Eurovision magic with all of you.”
The Eurovision Live Tour will feature 10 shows across major European cities, including London, Hamburg, Milan, Zurich, Antwerp, Cologne, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Paris, and Stockholm. Logan will perform in seven shows, skipping Milan, Zurich, and Amsterdam.
Logan, an Australian-born Irish singer, won Eurovision three times: in 1980 with What’s Another Year, in 1987 with Hold Me Now, and as the composer of Linda Martin’s winning song Why Me in 1992.
