Kazakhstan President Tokayev Arrives in Pakistan on Two-Day Visit
ISLAMABAD: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday on a two-day official visit, reflecting the growing strength of bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the Kazakh president upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, members of the federal cabinet, and senior government officials were also present at the reception.
As President Tokayev disembarked from the aircraft, he was greeted with a warm handshake by President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Children dressed in traditional attire presented flowers to the visiting leader, while schoolchildren holding the flags of Pakistan and Kazakhstan welcomed the dignitary. President Tokayev responded by waving to the children and exchanging cordial remarks with the Pakistani leadership.
A 21-gun salute was presented in honour of the visiting president.
During his visit, President Tokayev is scheduled to hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. He will also address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum.
The visit is expected to provide an important opportunity for both countries to comprehensively review bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in trade, logistics, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts, and collaboration at regional and international forums.
President Tokayev’s visit underscores the strengthening ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, highlighting the shared commitment to translating historical and cultural affinities into effective practical cooperation and reflecting the mutual desire of both nations to promote peace and development in the region.
