Khawaja Asif Denies Any Deal With PTI Founder

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has categorically denied reports suggesting that any discussions were held regarding the relocation of the founder of Imran Khan’s party, either abroad or to Banigala.

Speaking to the media, Khawaja Asif stated that at no level had there been any talks about transferring the PTI founder out of the country or shifting him to his Banigala residence. He added that while there may have been approaches regarding certain facilities, rumors of a “deal” are being deliberately circulated.

“These narratives are being spread to keep a political product alive in the market,” he remarked, asserting that such claims are politically motivated. “There is nothing left in this so-called product; discussions of a deal are simply an attempt to keep their shop open.”

The Defense Minister further criticized the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, warning that his position is under threat. He alleged that the announcement of a so-called “Release Force” was aimed at safeguarding his office. Khawaja Asif termed the force unconstitutional and illegal, emphasizing that the authority to establish any force rests solely with the federal government.

Commenting on international developments, the minister said that former U.S. President Donald Trump had praised Pakistan’s political and military leadership at an international gathering. According to Asif, Trump acknowledged the strength of the Pakistan Army and the capabilities of its Field Marshal. He described the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the United States as highly successful for Pakistan.

On Gaza, Khawaja Asif stated that commitments were made during the Gaza Peace Board meeting to resettle Palestinians, expressing hope that Gaza would be rebuilt and Palestinians would be reestablished there.
