Pakistani Leadership Pays Tribute to Martyrs on Pakistan Day
Pakistan’s top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, paid tribute to national heroes, martyrs, and ghazis on the occasion of Pakistan Day, honoring their sacrifices for the creation and stability of the country.
President, PM Reaffirm National Unity and Security Resolve
In their messages, the leaders said Pakistan stands as a testament to the wisdom, determination, and perseverance of its founding generation. They emphasized that the nation remains steadfast in upholding its traditions and is fully prepared to confront any challenges.
President Zardari highlighted the country’s progress despite early post-independence challenges, noting achievements in institution-building, defense capabilities, and counterterrorism efforts. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding national security, stressing that no group would be allowed to use foreign soil to act against the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government has guided the economy toward sustainable growth despite multiple challenges. He reiterated that lasting peace in South Asia is linked to a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue, affirming Pakistan’s continued moral, political, and diplomatic support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also extended greetings to the nation, paying homage to the vision and sacrifices that led to the establishment of Pakistan. He acknowledged the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah in guiding the Pakistan Movement with resilience and determination.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said the nation remains grateful to its founding leaders, including Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal, for turning the vision of an independent state into reality. He also paid tribute to martyrs who laid down their lives in defense of the country.
Armed Forces Pledge Continued Commitment to National Defense
Meanwhile, the leadership of the armed forces, including Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, extended congratulations to the nation.
In their joint message, they described March 23, 1940, as a defining moment in history that shaped the vision for an independent homeland. They reaffirmed that the armed forces, in collaboration with the public and law enforcement agencies, remain committed to defending the country and eliminating threats to national security.
