Missile Strikes Reported on Vessels in Gulf Waters
Three commercial vessels were reportedly attacked in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, according to a maritime security agency, raising fresh concerns about shipping safety in one of the world’s most important energy transit routes.
Three Commercial Ships Attacked Near Strait of Hormuz
The maritime security agency reported that the ships were targeted in missile or projectile attacks. The vessels involved were flying the flags of Thailand, Japan, and the Marshall Islands.
According to the report, one of the vessels was struck in the Strait of Hormuz near Dubai. Another ship was targeted approximately 11 nautical miles off the coast of Oman in the Gulf of Oman.
Maritime Agency Reports Attacks on International Ships
The attacks caused fires on board the vessels, though the blazes were later brought under control. Officials reported that all crew members on board the ships remained safe and no casualties were recorded in the incidents.
The Strait of Hormuz and the surrounding Gulf waters are among the most critical maritime corridors for global oil shipments. Any disruption in these waters often raises concerns about the security of energy supplies and the stability of international shipping routes.
Earlier, the United States Central Command had claimed that it destroyed 16 Iranian boats that were allegedly laying naval mines near the Strait of Hormuz. According to the claim, the vessels were reportedly involved in efforts to deploy mines in the strategic waterway.
Oil Prices Rise After Shipping Incidents in Gulf
The reported attacks on commercial ships and the earlier military claims have increased tensions in the region, particularly in the waters linking the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman.

Concerns over potential disruptions to crude oil shipments have also affected global energy markets. Following the reports of attacks and rising tensions in the area, international crude oil prices increased amid fears that shipping routes could be threatened.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that it carried out missile and drone attacks on US military bases located in the Gulf region.
Reports Say US Soldiers Injured in Kuwait Attacks
In a statement, the force claimed that its operations targeted American military installations and that the attacks resulted in injuries to around 100 US soldiers. According to the statement, the injured personnel were transferred to hospitals in Kuwait for treatment.
Arab media reports also cited Iranian sources as saying that strikes were carried out on several US military facilities in Kuwait. The installations mentioned included the Al-Adiri helicopter base, the Mohammed Al-Ahmad naval base, and the Ali Al-Salem air base.
The Iranian statement also claimed that missile and drone strikes targeted a naval base in Bahrain that hosts US military forces.
The developments have heightened tensions across the region, particularly as military claims, maritime incidents, and threats to shipping routes continue to emerge.
The situation remains closely monitored by international authorities as the Strait of Hormuz continues to be a critical route for global trade and energy transport.
