Naïka’s Debut Album and Nooriyah’s Global Beats Highlight Arts24
On today’s Arts24 music show, Jennifer Ben Brahim featured artists whose work reflects their multicultural backgrounds. Franco-Haitian singer-songwriter Naïka, who spent her childhood across the Caribbean, Kenya, South Africa, and the United States, performs in English, French, and Créole. Her music embodies her global upbringing and she is preparing to release her debut album Eclesia—an ancient Greek term meaning “the coming together of people.”
Also appearing on the show was Saudi-born, UK-based DJ and producer Nooriyah, known for blending Southwest Asian and North African melodies with Western pop beats. Her sets celebrate diaspora, movement, and cultural resistance on the dancefloor. Nooriyah is currently touring Europe.
