Pakistan, Azerbaijan Pledge to Strengthen Naval Cooperation During High-Level Meeting
Islamabad: ( By Naeem Mehboob ) Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, called on Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan, at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.
Upon arrival, Rear Admiral Mammadov was received by Admiral Ashraf, and a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy presented a Guard of Honour. The visiting dignitary also laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument in tribute to Pakistan’s fallen heroes.
During their meeting, the naval leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional maritime security situation, and opportunities for enhanced cooperation in training and defence. Both pledged to further strengthen and diversify the scope of the existing bilateral defence relationship.
The visiting delegation was later briefed on the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing projects and initiatives.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan share longstanding brotherly relations, including close naval cooperation. The visit of Commander Azerbaijan Naval Forces is expected to further enhance bilateral collaboration, particularly between the two navies.
