Pakistan Improves Position in Transparency International Corruption Index

Pakistan has recorded a marginal improvement in its standing on Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), reflecting continued progress in governance and institutional reforms.

According to the report, Pakistan has moved up by one position to rank 136th out of 182 countries assessed worldwide. Transparency International noted that the upward trend in Pakistan’s overall score continued in 2025, driven by efforts aimed at improving good governance and sustaining institutional reform processes.

The report highlighted that improvements were observed not only in indicators related to public sector and administrative corruption, but also in measures assessing corruption within legislative bodies and the judiciary. These gains suggest a broader impact of reform initiatives across key state institutions.
