Pakistan, Indonesia Discuss Strengthening Defense Ties

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Indonesia’s Defense Minister to explore areas for enhancing bilateral defense cooperation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General (Retired) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Indonesia’s Defense Minister, met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ on Monday.

The meeting focused on identifying avenues to strengthen bilateral defense collaboration and included discussions on regional and global security dynamics.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of Pakistan-Indonesia defense industry cooperation and strengthening institutional links between the two countries.

ISPR noted that the significance of training exchanges between the armed forces of both nations was also highlighted during the talks.

The Indonesian Defense Minister praised the professional expertise of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He expressed a strong desire to further enhance defense relations with Pakistan.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering sustainable defense ties with Indonesia, based on shared values and strategic interests.
