Pakistan Posts Record T20 Total Against Australia to Clinch Series
Lahore: Pakistan achieved a clean sweep against Australia in the T20 series for the first time in seven years, defeating the visitors by a commanding margin of 111 runs in the third T20 match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and posted a total of 207 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs the highest T20I score by Pakistan against Australia.
Fakhar Zaman scored 10 runs, Saeed Ajmal contributed 50, captain Salman Ali Agha added 5, and Khawaja Nafees made 21. Babar Azam scored 50 while Shadab Khan added 46 runs, providing the backbone of Pakistan’s innings. From the Australian side, Ben Warhos took two wickets.
Chasing a target of 208, Australia managed only 96 runs for nine wickets. Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa was ruled out due to injury and did not bat. Marcus Stoinis made 23 runs while Cameron Green scored 22.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz starred with the ball, taking five wickets for 18 runs, and Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed two more wickets to seal a comprehensive victory.
