Pakistan, Qatar Advance MoUs on Transparency, Legal Cooperation
The Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau, Lieutenant General (R) Nazir Ahmed, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on mutual cooperation, anti-corruption efforts, and capacity-building and training initiatives. The NAB chairman thanked Qatar for presenting a positive image of Pakistan under the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
He also congratulated the Government of Qatar on the successful hosting of the Global Anti-Corruption Conference in Doha.
Progress on a memorandum of understanding between NAB and Qatar’s Administrative Control and Transparency Authority was reviewed. The meeting also discussed finalizing a mutual legal assistance agreement in criminal matters.
The NAB chairman reiterated the bureau’s commitment to promoting a transparent and business-friendly environment in Pakistan. Both sides expressed a shared resolve to curb illicit financial flows and deny safe havens to criminals.
The meeting also acknowledged the contribution of skilled Pakistani workers to Qatar’s development.
