Pakistan Spinners Create History with All 10 Wickets Against Australia
Lahore: Pakistan’s spin bowlers delivered a historic performance against Australia, as all 10 wickets in a T20 International innings fell to spinners for the first time in Pakistan’s cricket history, sealing a dominant 90-run victory in the second match of the three-game series on Saturday.
Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan led the spin onslaught with three wickets each, while Usman Tariq claimed two scalps. Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with one wicket apiece, completing a rare all-spin dismissal of the Australian batting line-up.
Batting first, Pakistan posted an imposing 198 for 5 in their 20 overs. Australia, in reply, struggled against Pakistan’s relentless spin attack and were bowled out for 108 in the 16th over, handing the hosts an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series.
The achievement is only the 10th instance in T20 International history where all wickets in an innings have been taken by spinners. Notably, it is just the second such occurrence in a match involving Full Member teams.
Previously, the only Full Member side to achieve this feat was India, whose spinners took all 10 West Indies wickets during a T20 International in Florida in 2022.
Pakistan’s landmark performance in Lahore not only secured the series against Australia but also placed the team alongside India in a rare and elite T20 bowling record.
