Pakistan Stands With Bangladesh, Will Not Play India in T20 World Cup

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a key meeting on Sunday with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to discuss the national team’s participation in the ICC T20 World Cup.

Following detailed consultations, the government announced that the Pakistan cricket team will take part in the T20 World Cup. However, the team will not play its scheduled match against India on February 15, 2026. The government’s decision reflects Pakistan’s solidarity with Bangladesh, choosing to skip the match as a form of protest against India.

Earlier, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had rejected Bangladesh’s concerns, removing the team from the event and replacing it with Scotland for the tournament.

According to sources, the national team is scheduled to depart for Sri Lanka on Monday to participate in the World Cup, with the decision not to play against India now officially confirmed.
