Pakistan Targets Seven Militant Hideouts in Afghanistan

Pakistan has carried out strikes on seven suspected terrorist hideouts at multiple locations inside Afghanistan in response to what officials described as terrorism originating from Afghan soil.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the action was taken following a series of recent suicide attacks inside Pakistan. Authorities said the attacks were orchestrated by militant leadership and facilitators operating from within Afghanistan.

The ministry stated that recent attacks targeted an Imambargah in Islamabad as well as locations in Bajaur District and Bannu. Officials alleged that these operations were directed and coordinated by individuals based across the border.

In its statement, the ministry said responsibility for the attacks had been claimed by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, described by Pakistani authorities as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” along with affiliated groups. The government asserted that it possesses credible and concrete evidence linking the attacks to leadership figures operating from Afghanistan.

The statement further emphasized that Pakistan has solid proof indicating that the terrorist activities were conducted under direct instructions from commanders located on Afghan territory. Officials described the strikes as a necessary and proportionate response aimed at neutralizing imminent threats and dismantling operational infrastructure.

While specific operational details were not disclosed, authorities said the targeted locations were identified as key hideouts and logistical hubs used for planning and facilitating attacks against Pakistan.

The development marks a significant escalation in cross-border security tensions. Islamabad has repeatedly called on Afghan authorities to prevent their territory from being used by militant groups to launch attacks against Pakistan. Officials reiterated that safeguarding national security remains a top priority and that decisive measures will continue to be taken against threats.
