Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Arrives in Beijing for Strategic Dialogue
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Beijing on Saturday evening to begin an official visit to China, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Dar was received at the airport by China’s Special Representative on Afghanistan, Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong, along with Pakistan’s ambassador to China and officials from the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing.
During his visit, Dar will co-chair the seventh Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday. The talks are expected to review the full scope of bilateral cooperation, explore new areas of partnership and further strengthen the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
The foreign minister will also attend events marking the start of the 75th year of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. Both sides are planning a series of initiatives and commemorative activities throughout 2026 to celebrate the milestone.
Dar is the first foreign dignitary to visit China in 2026, traveling at the invitation of the Chinese foreign minister.
