Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry to Launch Mobile App for Document Attestation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) is planning to introduce a new mobile application to streamline the general attestation of documents, a move aimed at modernizing and digitizing its services, according to a report by Wealth Pakistan.

The app will allow users to track their attestation applications in real time while minimizing the need for in-person visits. It is designed to reduce human interaction and provide a more user-friendly experience, making the process faster and more efficient.

This initiative is part of a broader vision to integrate multiple government databases, including the Higher Education Commission, the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen, the National Database and Registration Authority, and provincial systems, into a unified digital platform.

To meet rising demand, the MoFA is also planning to construct a new Consular Hall at its headquarters. Additionally, the ministry is working toward a one-stop solution for digitized services through partnerships with reputable service providers, allowing the public to access multiple services from a single platform.

The digitization of the general attestation process will follow the model of the Apostille Attestation system, bringing traditional paper-based procedures online. Another key component is linking the app with Aasaan Khidmat Centers, which will extend access to government services at the local level across Pakistan.

Speaking to Wealth Pakistan, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amna Baloch said the transformation is aimed at creating a more efficient, transparent, and user-centric foreign ministry, “setting the stage for a future where public services are increasingly available at the touch of a button.”
