PM Orders Solar Shift for Loss Making Power Feeders

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that high-loss electricity feeders be shifted to solar power as part of ongoing reforms in the power sector.

Chairing a review meeting on electricity sector reforms, the prime minister said that loss-making feeders should be converted to solar energy in coordination with provincial governments. He noted that the move would help reduce losses and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in affected areas.

Shehbaz Sharif instructed authorities to immediately launch pilot projects on high-loss feeders of PESCO and KESCO.

Separately, the prime minister also chaired a review meeting on the Ramadan relief package, during which he sought recommendations to further improve the initiative.
