PM Shehbaz Sharif Highlights Strengthening Pakistan-Myanmar Ties
Islamabad : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Myanmar in trade, economic engagement, education, culture, capacity-building, and people-to-people exchanges during a meeting with Myanmar’s Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, U Than Swe, in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister appreciated Myanmar’s cooperation in combating human trafficking and its support for Pakistan’s engagement with ASEAN. He also highlighted the significance of deepening bilateral relations across sectors of mutual interest.
In response, the Myanmar Foreign Minister conveyed greetings and good wishes from his country’s leadership and expressed Myanmar’s desire to further expand ties with Pakistan. He also thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s timely support following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025.
The meeting underscored both countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for greater collaboration in trade, culture, and regional cooperation.
