President Ilham Aliyev, Qatari Prime Minister Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation in Davos
Davos : President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting in Davos with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.
At the outset of the meeting, the Qatari prime minister conveyed warm greetings from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to President Aliyev. The Azerbaijani head of state expressed his appreciation for the message and asked that his own best regards be conveyed to the Amir.
The two leaders praised the current state of bilateral relations, noting the strong foundation of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar. They underlined the significant potential for expanding collaboration across a wide range of sectors, particularly in the fields of trade and economic partnership. Both sides voiced confidence that the close and friendly ties between the two countries would continue to deepen in the coming period.
During the discussions, special attention was given to the successful joint efforts in supporting Syria’s energy sector, including the delivery of Azerbaijani gas through SOCAR, which was described as a notable example of effective cooperation.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on other issues of shared interest, reflecting the constructive and forward-looking nature of the dialogue between the two countries.
