Shehbaz Sharif Calls Gaza Peace Pakistan’s Core Mission

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the inaugural meeting of the Gaza Peace Board in Washington, outlining Pakistan’s position on lasting peace in Gaza and the necessity of an independent Palestinian state.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that achieving sustainable peace in Gaza is Pakistan’s mission, stressing that the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state is essential for lasting peace and is the legitimate right of the Palestinian people.

Speaking at the first meeting of the Gaza Peace Board in Washington, chaired by US President Donald Trump, the prime minister said it was an honour to participate in the inaugural session, reiterating that sustainable peace in Gaza remains a central objective.

He expressed hope that efforts would succeed in securing durable peace in Gaza, describing the day as a historic milestone for peace in the Middle East. He called for the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions granting Palestinians their rights, reaffirming that an independent and sovereign Palestinian state is their due. He added that violations of the ceasefire in Gaza must end to achieve lasting peace.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised President Trump’s role in resolving conflicts, saying his timely intervention helped stop the Pakistan-India war. He said the ceasefire saved thousands of precious lives and that President Trump prevented major devastation in South Asia.
