President Zardari Signs Amendment on Law Officers’ Service Terms

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved an amendment introducing a Special Additional Attorneys General Allowance for long-serving law officers, following a summary signed on the advice of the Prime Minister.

According to a press release issued by the President’s Secretariat (Media Wing), the amendment relates to the terms and conditions of service of Additional, Deputy and Assistant Attorneys General. Under the revised framework, Additional Attorneys General who have served for more than ten years as Assistant Attorneys General will be entitled to the special allowance.

The move aims to acknowledge sustained service within the law officers’ cadre and provide structured financial recognition for officers who completed over a decade in the role of Assistant Attorney General prior to their elevation.

The amendment will take effect in accordance with the approved summary.
