PTA Completes QoS Surveys of Fixed-Line Broadband Services Across Pakistan
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has completed Quality of Service (QoS) surveys for fixed-line broadband services in 29 major cities across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
Conducted during the fourth quarter of 2025, the surveys assessed the network performance of Broadband Service Providers (BSPs) to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality internet services to consumers.
According to the results, most BSPs were found to be compliant with key performance indicators, including local and core network availability, jitter, local and international network latency, and data throughput. However, some providers were observed to be facing performance challenges across multiple network parameters.
The survey noted that high bandwidth utilisation, particularly during peak hours, led to network congestion and reduced internet speeds, negatively affecting user experience. Elevated latency levels were also recorded in both local and international network segments, pointing to inefficiencies in routing and backbone performance.
