PTA Urges Citizens to Use Social Media Responsibly, Warns Against PECA Violations
Islamabad : The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has emphasized that responsible use of social media is a shared national responsibility. Citizens are urged to exercise caution and refrain from sharing illegal, hateful, defamatory, or false content that could damage the reputation of state institutions, the judiciary, or individuals.
The PTA reminded the public that such acts are strictly punishable under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, highlighting the importance of maintaining digital discipline and ethical online conduct.
