Putin Offers Condolences to Tajik President After Fatal School Attack Near Moscow
On the sidelines of an informal summit of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) leaders, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a separate meeting with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, where he expressed condolences over the death of a 10-year-old Tajik boy in a violent incident near Moscow.
At the start of the talks, Putin described the killing of Qobiljon Aliyev at a school outside the Russian capital as a shocking and completely unacceptable crime. He said violence against children represents an extreme threat to society and is especially abhorrent when linked to terrorism or deliberate attacks.
According to the Kremlin, Putin conveyed his sympathies to Rahmon and the victim’s family, calling crimes against children “despicable and unforgivable.” He added that Russian authorities would conduct a full investigation and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The meeting took place during broader CIS discussions, but the tragedy dominated the opening of the bilateral talks between the two leaders. End / Diplomats World
