Putin Security Intensified Amid Global Threats and ICC Arrest Warrant
MOSCOW : Russia has significantly increased security measures around President Vladimir Putin, according to multiple Russian officials and a Kremlin source. The heightened protection comes amid global threats, including the ICC arrest warrant, risks of Ukrainian drone attacks, and recent attempts on foreign leaders.
Sources say Putin’s movements are closely monitored, with personal chefs and meals tested for poison before consumption. He has been wearing body armor at public events, including the Victory Day parade, under the advice of the Presidential Security Service.
Independent security consultant Jade Miller, analyzing parade footage, confirmed that Putin’s posture and overcoat conceal what appears to be a ballistic vest. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, however, maintains security measures remain “standard.”
Victory Day remains one of Russia’s most symbolic events, with Red Square closed to the public weeks in advance and all attendees subjected to thorough background checks.
