Putin Warns Ukraine Allies Over Escalation

MOSCOW : Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Ukraine and its allies would regret escalating actions against Russia, as tensions continue to rise over the ongoing conflict.

Speaking to Russia’s foreign intelligence service, the SVR, Putin said Moscow’s opponents are aware of the potential consequences if a nuclear element were introduced into the conflict. He cautioned that any such escalation would carry severe repercussions.

Russia Alleges Western Nuclear Support to Kyiv

Putin accused Ukraine of undermining peace efforts by threatening attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. He also alleged that terrorist activities targeting Russia have increased, claiming that Ukrainian and Western intelligence agencies were involved in such operations.

According to statements attributed to Russian intelligence officials, there are reports suggesting that the United Kingdom and France may be preparing to provide Ukraine with components and technology related to nuclear weapons. The SVR claimed that both countries are considering transferring nuclear-related technology and parts to Kyiv.

Moscow Raises Alarm Over Direct Nuclear Confrontation

The allegations were echoed by Russia’s Foreign Ministry, which warned once again of the dangers of direct military confrontation between nuclear powers. Officials emphasized that the situation risks escalating into a broader conflict if tensions are not contained.

The claims come amid continued hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, with Western nations providing military and financial support to Kyiv. Moscow has frequently criticized Western assistance, arguing that it prolongs the conflict and heightens the risk of escalation.

In response, the French Embassy in Moscow rejected the Russian intelligence report, calling it false. French officials denied any plans to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons components or related technology.

Kremlin Claims Rising Attacks Involving Western Intelligence

The United Kingdom has not publicly commented on the specific allegations cited by Russian intelligence in the statements. Western governments have consistently maintained that their support for Ukraine is defensive in nature and aimed at helping the country protect its sovereignty.

Putin’s remarks reflect mounting concerns in Moscow about the trajectory of the war and the potential involvement of NATO-aligned countries. Russian officials have repeatedly warned that expanding Western support could bring nuclear-armed states into closer confrontation.
