Rafah Crossing Reopens but Foreign Journalists Remain Barred
Gaza : Israel has reopened the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt for pedestrian traffic after a two-year closure, Arab media reported.
Under the new arrangement, approximately 150 Palestinians will be allowed to leave Gaza and 50 to enter daily, following strict security checks. The reopening comes amid heightened monitoring, with European observation teams reportedly present at the crossing.
Despite the reopening, foreign journalists remain barred from entering Gaza.
The Rafah crossing had been closed in May 2024 when Israel took control of the facility, halting civilian movement between Gaza and Egypt.
