Russia Urges Dialogue Amid Pakistan–Afghanistan Border Tensions
Russia has expressed concern over rising tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border and urged both countries to resolve their differences through dialogue based on mutual respect.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, officials said reports of ongoing clashes and fighting along the border are a matter of serious concern.
Moscow Expresses Concern Over Clashes on Pak-Afghan Border
According to the statement, there have been reports in recent days of armed confrontations in border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the clashes reportedly involved the use of aircraft and heavy weapons.

The ministry said the situation in the border region has become increasingly tense, with reports of casualties on both sides. Officials also expressed concern that civilian populations in nearby areas are being affected by the ongoing hostilities.
Russia highlighted that Afghan refugees returning from Pakistan and Iran are also being impacted by the deteriorating security situation in the border regions. The statement emphasized that instability in these areas could further complicate humanitarian conditions for displaced populations.
Russia Calls for Restraint Between Kabul and Islamabad
Speaking on the situation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova expressed deep concern over the developments along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border. She said Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and remains worried about the escalation of armed clashes in the region.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that reports indicate armed confrontations have taken place in tribal regions along the border, where the use of heavy weaponry and aerial assets has been observed.
According to Russian officials, the clashes have already resulted in confirmed casualties from both sides. The ministry warned that continued fighting could further endanger civilian communities living in the affected areas.
Moscow called on authorities in Kabul and Islamabad to exercise restraint and avoid military confrontation. The statement urged both sides to address their differences through negotiations conducted in a spirit of mutual respect.
Russian Foreign Ministry Warns of Escalation Along Border
Russia emphasized that dialogue and diplomatic engagement remain the most effective ways to resolve disputes and prevent further escalation along the border.

In addition to addressing the Pakistan–Afghanistan border tensions, the Russian Foreign Ministry also commented on the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
According to the statement, Russia does not currently see indications that the United States or Israel are prepared to demonstrate restraint or take steps to halt the bloodshed.

Russian officials also warned that parties responsible for aggressive actions appear to be attempting to create divisions within the Islamic world.

The Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of immediately halting military operations in order to prevent further escalation and reduce the risk of wider instability.
Moscow reiterated its position that diplomatic solutions and dialogue remain essential for resolving conflicts and maintaining regional and international stability.
