Saad Rafique Urges Medical Transparency Over Imran Khan’s Condition
Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has described reports of deteriorating eyesight of PTI founder Imran Khan as troubling, calling for immediate medical attention and transparency from authorities.
In a message shared on social media, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that prison conditions, whether strict or lenient, often leave inmates with health issues, a reality he described as both personal experience and common observation. He noted that repeated reports about the PTI founder’s vision being affected were a matter of serious concern.
He stressed that timely and effective medical treatment is a fundamental right of every individual, adding that when a patient is a prisoner and also a political opponent, safeguarding their rights becomes even more important.
Rafique said it would not reflect high moral standards to revisit incidents of mistreatment of political rivals during his own party’s tenure. He emphasized that the government and state institutions bear the responsibility to issue an official position based on medical reports and to facilitate meetings between the PTI founder and his family.
