Saudi Arabia Rules Out Use of Its Territory in Any Action Against Iran
Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has reiterated that its principled stance on regional tensions remains unchanged, stressing continued support for peaceful efforts to resolve the dispute between the United States and Iran.
A senior Saudi official on Sunday rejected US media reports claiming that Riyadh had allegedly urged Washington to take military action against Iran. The official described the reports as inaccurate and misleading.
In a statement published by the Saudi-owned newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, the official said the Kingdom continues to back initiatives aimed at a peaceful resolution of the US-Iran dispute through dialogue and diplomatic channels.
The official further emphasized that Saudi Arabia rejects the use of its airspace or territory for any military action against Iran.
According to the statement, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday, during which the Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s respect for Iran’s sovereignty.
