Saudi Arabia Warns UAE-Backed Moves in Yemen Threaten Regional Security
Saudi Arabia on Tuesday said it was concerned by what it described as pressure from the United Arab Emirates on Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces to launch military operations in Yemen’s Hadramout and Al-Mahra provinces, warning that such actions could directly threaten the Kingdom’s national security and regional stability.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the reported actions run counter to the principles of the Arab Coalition, which backs Yemen’s internationally recognized government. The ministry added that the moves risk undermining ongoing efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in Yemen.
