Trump Warns of “Traumatic” Consequences if Iran Deal Fails

WASHINGTON : U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that negotiations with Iran could last “as long as a month” as he seeks a comprehensive agreement.

Trump emphasized urgency, telling reporters, “It should happen quickly. They should agree very quickly,” and warned that failing to reach a deal would be “very traumatic.”

The remarks came after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who stressed that any agreement must address Iran’s ballistic missiles and regional network of armed groups, not only its nuclear program. Netanyahu expressed skepticism that a deal limited to uranium enrichment and inspections would protect Israel’s core security interests.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused Trump and Netanyahu of encouraging unrest amid domestic protests, saying foreign adversaries had “closed off external avenues to destabilize the country from within.”
